Alpha Financial Bank’s Joe LeMense Recognized for Community Involvement with the ABA Foundation’s George Bailey Distinguished Service Award

Vienna, Va. & Charleston, W.Va. — Alpha Financial Bank’s Managing Director of Community Development and Non-Profit Banking, Joe LeMense, was recently recognized as one of the most distinguished bankers in the nation. The George Bailey Distinguished Service Award, presented by the American Bankers Association (ABA) Foundation, is named after George Bailey, the community banker hero of the movie It’s a Wonderful Life. LeMense was awarded one of three honorable mention awards for his inspirational work in affordable housing.

In large part due to LeMense’s commitment and understanding of the affordable housing landscape, Alpha Financial Bank has made a meaningful impact in affordable housing in the D.C metro area where skyrocketing housing costs are negatively impacting tens of thousands of longtime residents.
